Lauren Pastor is a first year Western University Women's Volleyball player with the desire to keep the volleyball community connected during the summer and provide a program where meaningful relationships can be formed. Her passion for mentorship began as a club player for Pakmen Volleyball Club in Mississauga, ON. With volleyball exposure at the provincial, national and international level, and as an assistant and house-league coach, Lauren has seen the impact older athletes can have on younger players with similar goals and a love for the sport. Lauren's time with Pakmen, Team Ontario, and the Youth National Team has connected her with many amazing athletes looking for ways to give back to the volleyball community.
This pandemic has kept volleyball players away from the sport they love and has disconnected them from their fellow athletes. For those just starting their volleyball journey, they haven't been able to experience the kindness of the community. Our post-secondary mentors experienced non-student athlete life for the first time in their athletic career. Maintaining a sense of community and support for our athletes is crucial at this time. This mentorship program is designed to reconnect and support athletes as return to play is still unknown.
